Micro-Needle Radiofrequency
For more severe scars, a more intense Micro-Needle Radiofrequency treatment will be used instead. This method of treatment is unique and highly effective for stubborn/ deep acne scars.
Gold-plated ultra-fine needles first smoothly penetrates deep acne scars before emitting radiofrequency energy to break up the scar tissue and stimulate collagen.
It is a great treatment for deep acne scars that requires deeper penetration of energy and a more intense approach.
Despite being more intensive, downtime is actually still kept to a MINIMAL!

There are 4 main variants of atrophic acne scars:
1. Ice pick scars: Small entry point with sharp steep edges; like an inverted triangle
2. Box car scars: Wider base, sharply demarcated edges; like a box
3. Rolling scars: Wide base, rounded edges
4. Hypertrophic scars : Raised scars.
There are many different types of acne scar treatments available and each type of treatment may be applicable to some but not others. As such, a consultation with a medical professional to decide the most appropriate treatment for your acne scars is much advised.
Venus Viva Radiofrequency Skin Resurfacing
The Venus Viva is the latest revolutionary Radiofrequency (RF) machine that utilises its Nanotechnology to effectively treat different scars with MINIMAL downtime as compared to the traditional CO2 or Erbium laser treatment.
Multiple columns of RF energy are emitted into the scars to break the scar tissue up AND stimulate new collagen. This effectively evens out the scars and improves the texture of the scarred areas.Treatment is quick (about 30mins) and comfortable!
Some redness is to be expected but by the 3rd / 4th day, only a pinkish-redness will be seen.
A topical anaesthetic cream will first be applied to ensure comfort throughout the process. The Venus Viva RF probe will then be used to create micro-columns of heat within the layers of the skin. Some redness is expected but will subside, and once healed, the skin will have a more even and a smoother texture. Additionally, there is also a firming effect due to collagen remodelling.

Radiofrequency
A cool gel is applied to the brow region. The radiofrequency probe is then placed over the skin and the energy is transmitted. Other than feeling some heat, it is a relatively comfortable and painless procedure. No downtime is required, and effects may be seen immediately.
In addition, the skin can be made to be more even, and to have a smoother texture. This tightening is due to collagen remodelling, causing a lifting effect. Some redness is expected, but will subside within a few days.

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Therapy (HIFU)
A cooling gel will first be applied to the neck area that is to be treated, and the ultrasound probe will then be placed on the skin. The energy will be transmitted to the deeper layers of the skin, as well as the underlying SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) layer that supports the overlying skin. Some heat may be felt during the procedure, but otherwise it is a fairly comfortable procedure. The process may take 45 minutes to an hour, and no downtime will be required afterwards.
