Hori’s Naevus is a condition whereby the pigment is located deeper in the skin. Causes include a family history/ genetics as well as a relation to hormones.  It typically occurs on the cheeks and appear greyish-brown in color.

Treatment is usually via our pigment specific Q-switch laser and may require multiple sessions.

Freckles usually consists of pigment that are located superficially in the skin. They have a genetic component to it and occurs in individuals at a young age.  They are very sensitive to UV rays and many individuals see their freckles lighten in Winter (when there is less sunlight) and typically they get darker in the Summer when exposure to the sun is more abundant.

In sunny Singapore where it is literally Summer all year round, using a sunscreen of SPF 30 at least is essential to prevent freckles from getting darker.

Freckles are very treatable with our pigmentation removal procedure and is primarily done so via our pigment specific Spectra XT laser and the BB Laser.

The pigment is situated deep in the skin and gives it a blue-ish, green-ish, grey and brown appearance.

Treatment is primarily via our advanced Q-switch laser and will require multiple sessions.

Besides our advanced medical lasers, we do have other proprietary whitening treatments be it well researched whitening creams, whitening oral tablets amongst others.

Dr Ho Rui Ming will assess your skin before recommending the best course of treatment for your pigment woes.

This is a very common condition that typically affects Asian females.

It’s also known as chloasma, or the “mask of pregnancy”. This condition is much more common in women than in men.

Although there is no exact cause found, it is thought that several factors may predispose a person to develop this condition.

These include:

Do note that men can also develop melasma, though it is more uncommon as compared to women.

Age spots / sun spots are pigment arising from skin damage due to age and exposure to UV rays.  These can appear anywhere on the body but typically occurs on sun-exposed parts of the body such as the face, chest and hands.
