M Aesthetic CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment
M Aesthetic CO2 Fractional Laser Treatment-01

Effectively treats Scars, Smoothens the skin, Skin renewal to regain youthful-looking skin

There are many different types of fractional lasers to treat scars such as fractional CO2 lasers, MicroNeedle Radiofrequency, fractional 1064nm lasers etc.  One such laser that we use at M-Aesthetic Clinic is the Fractional CO2 Laser.

How does it work?

The CO2 Fractional Laser is a fractional ablative laser that delivers results to minimize downtime, increase patient safety and maximize comfort.

It helps in treating uneven skin texture, depressed acne scars, aged skin and fine lines and wrinkles. In contrast to traditional fully ablative resurfacing lasers, the Fractional CO2 laser has revolutionised the treatment of these conditions by reducing downtime to a minimum.

The CO2 features the patented Controlled Chaos Technology (CCT™) to create Micro-Ablative Columns (MACs) that allows the tissue to maximize heat dissipation between shots whilst minimizing downtime and promoting healing.

The treatment of a fraction of the skin allows for faster recovery of the treated areas. The ablative nature of this laser is responsible for more predictability and consistency in results when compared to non-ablative technology.

This results in an increased safety profile with a reduction in post-operative discomfort and faster healing time leads to fractional resurfacing results.

CO2 Laser for depressed acne scars

The CO2 laser is usually recommended to treat depressed acne scars such as Boxcar Scars, post-treated Ice Pick Scars, Rolling scars and even Hypertrophic / Keloid Scars.. (Read more about acne scar removal treatments)

Frequently Asked Questions ABOUT CO2 FRACTIONAL LASER TREATMENT

What should I expect after the treatment?

Redness is to be expected after the procedure followed by micro-crusts and should resolve in a week.

How is the CO2 Laser treatment performed?

Numbing cream will first be applied before the procedure to ensure maximum comfort during the procedure. The procedure itself is quick and takes about 15 mins.

It works by removing outer layers of damaged skin and stimulate the skin underneath to regenerate. The energy heats up the dermis layer and stimulate our body’s natural repair process to rebuild lost collagen in the skin. Concurrently, fractional technology leaves the healthy tissues intact between the laser beams to accelerate tissue healing.  For Acne Scars, the eCO2 Laser breaks up the scar tissue and stimulates collagen to smoothen these scars out.

Most patients will find this procedure highly tolerable.

When will I see results?

Results can be seen with each session and subsequent sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.

How long is the recovery period?

Recovery from light superficial treatments may require 1-3 days. Makeup may be used during this time.

Stronger treatments may require a few days for recovery.

Pink discoloration is normal and is temporary, and can be camouflaged with makeup. Light superficial laser treatments require minimal downtime, and is beneficial for patients with fine lines and discoloration of the skin.

Must I apply sunblock?

Yes, definitely! Sun protection after the CO2 Laser treatment is required to protect and prevent side effects such as hyperpigmentation and prolonged redness. It is recommended to use sunblock with at least SPF30.  Additionally, sun/ direct UV rays avoidance is also much advised.
